FAQ

What is the 'Association of The Seven Helpers of the Holy Souls'?
We are a group of Catholics, offering up one day out of our week for the poor souls in Purgatory. Thus, when seven of us band together, each offering up our one day a week, we collectively, as a group offer our prayers, good works, joys and sufferings, through the hands of Our Blessed Mother, for the Holy Souls in Purgatory. Imagine if one hundred groups of "Seven Helpers of the Holy Souls" did the same thing, or one thousand groups, or all members of the Catholic Church - we would surely empty Purgatory and very quickly populate Heaven!

What if I forget to offer up my day?
You only need a remote intention to register as a helper of the Holy Souls.  That is, it is sufficient to have the intention at the time of Registration, that you will offer up all your Tuesdays (or whatever day you have chosen).  Of course, it is better if you have a proximate intention.  That is, each week, you offer up your day and try to remain as aware of your intention throughout the specified day as you can.  This will also help you to pray more and to sacrifice more selflessly.

How to Join the 'Association of The Seven Helpers of the Holy Souls'
To join the "Association of The Seven Helpers of the Holy Souls" simply go to the link 'Registration' and complete the details. You will automatically be sent by email, your registration number, the day of the week you have promised, and the Christian names of the other members of your 'Seven Helpers'. If your group of seven helpers is not complete, an email will be sent to you upon completion of your group.
You may or may not know the other members of your group. It doesn't matter! It is not a social group, but known, or unknown, you will have a spiritual bond with them and together, you will be helping many poor souls in Purgatory.

What if I don't have an email address?
All registrations need to be made on-line, otherwise there is no way of tracking them.  If someone does not have a computer or an email address they would need to ask a friend or their parish priest to use theirs.  After you are registered, you do not need to use the computer at all.  After all, the purpose of this Association is to pray and offer sacrifices for the Holy Souls.  That being said, we hope from time to time all members get an opportunity to look at this site and keep up with any news and information we present, and take advantage of the Spiritual Reading page.

How do you un-register?
Should you wish to no longer be a part of the Association of The Seven Helpers of the Holy Souls for any reason, please go to the link, 'Registration' and click the un-register button. If you know of a helper of the Holy Souls who has died, please inform us by email of their name, country and Registration number, and your relationship to that person, e.g. parent, child, spouse, friend etc.

What is a prerequisite for joining the 'Association of The Seven Helpers of the Holy Souls'?
The first prerequisite is a generous heart. Other than that, one needs to be a baptized Catholic who has attained the age of reason.

Can you sign up other people?
No, not without their explicit approval.  Why?  If a lady signed up her grandson and he had no intention of offering up his day for the Holy Souls, that Association of seven helpers would be missing a day. Doing this would also lend itself to abuse with many registered names, not in fact being active.

Can we make donations to the 'Association of The Seven Helpers of the Holy Souls' ?
The organizers of this apostolate are looking for no recompense for their efforts. They wish to remain anonymous and certainly want no financial help. If any-one still wishes to donate money to the 'Association of The Seven Helpers of the Holy Souls' they may do so, but 100% of the money will be used either in having Masses said for the Holy Souls or in helping to promote this Apostolate. If someone wishes to donate money, they would need to contact us and we will send them the necessary details.

What benefits are there in joining the 'Association of The Seven Helpers of the Holy Souls'?
Gaining merit for your good works, pleasing Our Blessed Lord and helping the Holy Souls.

When we die, what happens to our 'day'?
When we are notified of your death, we fill your 'day' with a new registration. Additionally, we will ask all other members of the 'Association of The Seven Helpers of the Holy Souls' to pray for you by adding your name to our 'Death Registry' and the Masses we have said for the Holy Souls will include the repose of your soul. We guarantee at least one Mass a month said for the Holy Souls including our deceased members.
